I am in the process of archiving all my raw footage to DVD. Thats a LOT of raw footage. I didn’t really start in any particular order. Today, among others I archived the first scene I did with Melisaa Hill. this was 10 years ago. I was new to the biz and had shot less than half a dozen scenes. I met Melissa at the CES show and brought her to Atlanta to shoot. I didn’t really know it then but Melissa was special. To this day she is the only porn chick I have ever known who could really, and I mean really act. Melissa had to play a character, no matter what. Hi Mike,

I view your website ocassionally for the gossip. I also think you have great insight and common sense about things, so I would like to ask you a question and get your opinion.

It might also be a good topic to talk about on your website, because it’s an issue that IS coming and will have to be dealt with by the industry, or the industry will end.

My question is this: Given the fact that there have been AIDS outbreaks in the industry already with more benign strains of HIV, what will the industry do when the AIDS situation is really serious. Right now, the HIV strain that is predominant in the United States is HIV-1B. As far as heterosexual transmission, this strain is pretty benign compared to the other strains of HIV.

The problem is, right now, in the larger cities due to immigration of infected individuals, military personnel and American’s who have never traveled abroad, but have become infected with new strains (this is a VERY small number right now) there are now strains in the United States that are far more deadly in respect to heterosexual transmission than HIV-1B. I do not have all of the facts in front of me right now, but to the best of my knowledge, we now have HIV-1A, HIV-1B (the current variant dominant in the United States), HIV-1C, HIV-1D(?), HIV-1E, HIV-1F(?), HIV-1G, HIV-1J, and several recombinant strains. With immigration from Africa, Asia and Latin America, plus military personnel stationed abroad, these variants will continue to increase in the United States. The big two to worry about are HIV-1C and HIV-1E, HIV-1C is what is ravaging Southern Africa and HIV-1E is what is ravaging Southeast Asia. These two variants are far more lethal as far as heterosexual transmission than HIV-1B and they are ALREADY here in the United States (some of the strains I’m not sure about, I put a question mark, but HIV-1C and HIV-1E ARE here). They are primarily heterosexual in transmission and female to male are far more likely with these variants also. First, these variants must reach a rate of critical mass in a subgroup of people in the nation and then they will begin to enter the mainstream. They will QUICKLY replace HIV-1B as the main strain and will be very infective heterosexually. When there was an AIDS scare among heterosexuals in the 80’s, it didn’t really happen because HIV-1B is pretty tough to transmit heterosexually, but I believe that the real epidemic IS on the horizon with these deadly and easily transmittable strains, it’s just a matter of time.

The second part of this is a question for you, because this is something that I’m not sure about. The “safe-sex” people aren’t telling the whole truth about HIV and condoms in my opinion, but I’m not sure. In semen, HIV is present as intracellular infection (which pro-condom people talk about), but it’s also present as free-floating virus (which they don’t talk about). It is actually the free-floating virus that causes the vast majority of infection (I believe it’s infectivity is several thousand times greater). The free-floating virus is also much smaller in particle size. Condoms by their nature are porous. The intra-cellular virus can not get through the condom, but free-floating particles are theoretically small enough to pass through. When you add in friction, natural variance in condoms, etc. it doesn’t sound like such a sure bet. A sample of semen unregisterable by current condom testing can have up to 80,000 copies of free-floating HIV particles. How effective do you think condoms will be with the highly-transmittable heterosexual variants of HIV? I’m not saying condoms don’t work, I’m just saying that the margin of error is very low because of the free-floating particles.

No offense, but pornstars are not the most intelligent or responsible people on Earth. Given what they do on-set (it keeps getting more suicidal) and what they do off-set (probably just as scary), how will the industry survive in the face of a serious HIV challenge and a likely low margin of error even with condoms?

He brings up valid questions, but lets face it, NOBODY in this industry plans ahead and nobody in this industry acknowledges a problem untill it is sitting on someones desk in the form of a fine, an indictment or a lawsuit.

But truth is these same problems face more than just the porn community but the community at large. The saving grace may be that we are very close to a cure, a vaccine or both. The different clades of the HIV virus (he refers to them as strains) are closely related in that replication is pretty much the same and existing protease inhibitor and other drug therapies will buy the victim time…potentially lots of it.

Finally intelligence and responsible behavior don’t necessarily go hand in hand, there are some very intelligent people I know who do very irresponsible things, and as for the industry’s survival…Darwin will take care of that, one way or the other.

What’s fascinated me is, I get Religious Right “news” screeds every day, and every one has at least some shit about gays — and recently, they’ve been touting some video they made about people who *were* gay but were “cured” (which as far as I can tell never happens; either the “cured” ones are bi and have just decided to avoid fucking the same sex for a while, or they’re gay and have just decided to stop having sex with their preferred sex. And then there’s their “ex-gay” poster boy, John Paulos, who was caught a couple of years ago trying to pick up guys in a gay bar in D.C.) (The RRs claimed he just went in there to use the bathroom. Yeah, right!) Anyway, the point is, if the RRs are so sure they can cure gays, why wouldn’t the Cheneys have signed up Mary for the treatment, or even talked about how she should sign herself up for the treatment?

As for your point about the RRs following the Bible regarding their treatment of homosexuals and homosexuality, that simply isn’t the case. I quote Leviticus 20:13:

“If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.”

Seems pretty clear to me: If a gay man has sex, you’ve got to kill him; God said so. But to be fair, verses 10 and 11 of the same chapter require Bible believers to kill adulterers (verse 11 is particularly cool since it specifies motherfuckers); verse 12 requires the same with regard to guys who fuck their daughters-in-law — and for all those farm boys who’ve fucked chickens and heifers, there’s verse 15.

See? Religion CAN be fun!

About a month ago, after the constitutional amendment failed in both the House and the Senate, Cheney and his wife, were giving a speech during a visit to one of the swing states. He was asked what he thought of gay marriage. He and his wife — both of them — said they had a gay daughter. They believed she ought to be able to enter into any relationship she chose. They were against they gay amendment, but the president sets the agenda. And, I believe, their daughter was on the stage with them.

At this year’s presidential debate, Cheney was asked about gay marraige. He said he had a gay daughter. She was in the audience. The camera showed her. He said he was against gay marriage.

In at least three very public events, two of them being nationally-televised vice presidential debates, Cheney has linked the fact that he has a gay daughter with his understanding and views on gay rights.

And yet Kerry is supposed to be a man who will sink to a new low by linking gay rights to someone else’s kid?

If the vice president hadn’t put it in play, it wouldn’t have been out there.

He used it for political advantage then, and he’s using it for political advantage now.

Well said Mike. Bush didn’t have a good debate. He’s trailing in OH and PA. If Kerry wins those 2 states and Bush’s done. So they have to make Kerry look like a bigot. It is imperative that people not be lazy on Nov 2nd. Get out and vote. Heck, many states have early voting which starts today. There’s no excuse and anybody that bitches after Nov 2nd, I want to see their voting receipt. As an aside, it is very important that it doesn’t come down to Florida.

As I sit here listening to the radio talk show hosts and the rest of the political pundits wallowing in the aftermath of the third (and final, thank God) debate, I can’t help but to shake my head and wonder where the substance has gone in the American Polity.

The big issue is John kerry bringing up the fact that Dick Cheney’s daughter is gay. The right wing supporters say it was a low blow.

Dick Cheney said
“You saw a man who will do and say anything to get elected, and I am not just speaking as a father here, although I am a pretty angry father.”

Lynne Cheney said:
“Now, you know, I did have a chance to assess John Kerry once more and now the only thing I could conclude: This is not a good man. Of course, I am speaking as a mom, and a pretty indignant mom. This is not a good man. What a cheap and tawdry political trick.”

Elizabeth Edward’s said:

” the Cheney’s were ashamed of their lesbian daughter. “

And Kerry Himself reclarified stating:

“I love my daughters. They love their daughter. I was trying to say something positive about the way strong families deal with this issue.”

Now I know why Kerry did it and so do you, he mentioned the fact that Dick and Lynne Cheney had a lesbian daughter in an attempt to drive a wedge between Bush and his hard-core Christian conservative supporters.

But it really does bring up a very valid issue. The Republicans are dead set against homosexuality, so much so they made a lot of noise about a constitutional amendment outlawing same sex marriages. It will never happen, but if they had their way it would. Hell John Ashcroft, given his way would have the Cheney’s daughter incarcerated for it. Now ask yourself why it is that they even care? Why is this even an issue? The reason is simple, the religious right which Cheney, Bush and Ashcroft are so beholden to thinks its a SIN. God forbid (pardon the pun) that anyone actually be allowed to make up his or her own mind about this. For them the bible says it so they believe it. But this country is not a theocracy, our laws are not based on biblical law but on the ideology that you have certain “inalienable rights” and that they may not be transgressed. Sure there are laws against murder and the bible clearly states “Thou shalt not kill”, unless of course its in the name of Jesus or God or apparently oil, but I digress. You have a right to your life, that is one of those “inalienable rights” so that law isn’t biblically based.

The point that should be apparent here is the hypocrisy of the Republicans in this issue. They want to ban homosexuality but bringing up the fact that the Vice President’s own daughter is homosexual is a low blow? Sure it may lack a certain amount of tact but I think it drives home a point, and a damn good one at that.

Interesting that everyone made a lot of noise about this but apparently Vice President Cheney’s Daughter, who deserves to be heard more than anyone else, hasn’t said anything…Maybe it is she who is ashamed.

Am I better off as a result of Bush Being in Office?

The answer is no.

I asked myself the question that Bush wants us all to ask ourselves…Am I safer as a result of Bush being in office?

While I wouldn’t have wanted to have Gore in office on 9/11 I had to honestly answer no, I am not safer, and I have lost a lot of liberty to boot. That is unacceptable to me, be sure you get out and vote and let’s show this guy the door.

I was told by the management at Club Risque that they will never book Devon again. They agreed she was hot and they had tons of calls and were expecting a very large turnout.

Is Devon trying to compete with Leeanna Heart for most no-shows? Who gets the award for biggest flake anyway?
