For two weeks I tried to get Steve Orenstein, Joy King or Jessica Drake to call me and answer questions I had about the ID issues with Jessica.

I got an email from Steve and an email from Joy both asking what was up, I promptly answered both, I even sent Steve 2 emails…no response, no co-operation no nothing. It was ignored.

So I run the first part of the Jessica Drake story and lo and behold within 24 hours whom do I hear from…you guessed it, Wicked’s Lawyers. They could saved themselves some money by simply trying to work with me on this…

I guess they must have plenty of money to just throw away.

I sent the lawyers the gist of what I have, I’d never roll over on a source(s) though.

While I have received responses from Wicked, so far my request to speak with Jessica has gone unanswered.

Here is what I have on this:

It came to my attention through one of the video companies that she shot for that they had two different IDs on her with two very different names. Now Jessica has been married a few times so one could explain it that way, BUT The different IDs were both United States Paassports, Both different First, Middle and Last Names and Both Valid at the same time. That was enough to get me looking into this.

As it stands now I have uncovered more than six different identiies she has used, including birthdates that differ.

I am holding off on anything else untill I get the results of a much more thorough investigation.

If your company has shot Jessica Drake you might want to check your IDs on file for her, there is a very good chance that they are invalid, particulalry if they show a birth year other than 1971.

It does NOT appear that she ever worked while underage but if you get your 2257 records checked and you have multiple IDs on her you could have a problem.

XBiz Is Raising Awareness:

As you may have noticed, XBiz has skinned the most popular adult blogs. This is coming at a time when there are persistant rumors that AVN has been sold, despite Paul Fishbein’s denials. XBiz is serious about giving AVN some competition.

For a while now XBiz has been quietly growing and adding to its staff and all of a sudden now I’m seeing XBiz as a real contender. Now Having said that I’m excitedly awaiting Jeffs next press kit…cuz he WILL raise the bar.

A few weeks back I took an on time check (take note Arnold Stein) from Dan Davis and went and bought myself a new Big screen HDTV, LCD type if you must know, 42 inch.

I hooked it up and had comcast come out and install an HDTV converter and DVR (Next day if you can believe that) and Im off and running in HiDef

Sort of

The problem is, there is woefully little hidef programming most of the so called HiDef channels like the local stations and even HBO HD are simply standard def upconverted to hidef. so what you have is a shitty picture by comparison, because its a lower resolution picture, stretched out to the hi def display format.

BUT

When you do have a Hidef channel that is recorded, edited and broacast in HD like Discovery HD Theater, the result is simply breathtaking. I watch this channel a lot I even watched a show on dog friendly places in the US…and I dont even have a fucking dog.

I also watched some porn and some hollywood releases from my DVDplayer ( a progressive scan player). The hollywood releases, specially the widescreen ones look awesome, even upconverted, they arent as good as the discovery HD channel but they are REALLY good. Blade, Lord of The Rings, The Godfather, American history X all looked REALLY good.

Which brings us to the porn

I watched Pirates and it compared favorably to the hollywood releases. Its was just as good.

I watched a tampa show documentary that Aaron and I shot a few years back in Tampa, it has been in some film festivals and even won a couple. It was shot in SD 24p and it looked good as well, just as good as the hollywood releases.

I watched some gonzo fron several different companies I wont name.

THIS is where it gets interesting.

You dont really realize how poorly most porn is shot till you see it on a 16:9 HDTV, it doesnt upconvert very well because most of it is authored at 480i and the framing and camerawork are nothing short of horrid. Most of it was, in fact, unwatchable. At HDTV resolutions even 480p that is shot and authored poorly is just plain ugly.

Moving on to Bluray and HDDVD

As some of you may already know theres a war going on between these two DVD formats but the REAL war is against you the consumer. They would have you believe that HD video is too large to put on a regular DVD you need these new formats to hold “all that extra resolution” In a word Bullshit.

what they dont tell you is these formats are ALL about copy protection.

You see if you buy one of these new bluray DVD burners for example you might think ity will play bluray DVDs…you would think WRONG. In order to play a blue ray DVD from your new 800 dollar bluray drive you have to have whats called an HDCP compliant video card AND an HDCP compliant monitor. the CP stands for copy protected. You see HD copy protection has been integrated at the hardware level so you wont be copying those HD-DVDs anytime soon.

So I did some experimenting. I took a PC and hooked it up to my new HDTV via the DVI interface, so the HTDV is kinda like a monitor…ok well it IS a monitor in this config.

I took some HD footage and I encoded into a hidef H.264 format and played it on my TV…it looked beautiful…as good as Discovery HD Theater. and guess what? 2 hrs of it fits easily onto a DVD9 only problem is its in a format that wont play on a standard DVD player but will play from a computer. So maybe rather that spend that 800 bucks on a HDDVD player yer better off getting a desktop computer to use as a media center.

It shouldn’t be long before someone devises a way to get those HDTV programs off my DVR and out to my media center computer thus allowing me to archive them forever, albeit not in a Bluray or HDDVD format but in a plain old DVD format we all use now.

Lets just say NO to DRM infected DVD, same as we did to DIVX when they tried to pull that bullshit on us.

“Dog” Chapman Arrested, Faces Extradition

MSNBC’s Rita Cosby is reporting that Duane Dog Chapman, star of the A&E reality series “Dog the Bounty Hunter,” and two members of his bounty hunting team (including his son) were arrested by U.S. officials today for extradition to Mexico.

Cosby is reporting that Mexican government officials wanted the three men sent back there in relation to a three-year-old case.

In 2003, Chapman traveled to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico to retrieve Max Factor cosmetics heir Andrew Luster, who was wanted in the U.S. on rape charges. Luster is now in jail, serving a 124-year term. The Chapmans were jailed in Mexico for a brief time for the incident three years ago. Bounty hunting is considered a crime in Mexico.

Dog’s wife, Beth Chapman, said 12 armed marshals “came through the door” at 6:00AM this morning. She said they took their daughter’s boyfriend down at gunpoint. Dog was sleeping at the time.

TMZ spoke with Nicky Credic from the U.S. Marshals Office. She said, “The arrest warrant was signed by a U.S. magistrate in Hawaii on September 13. The warrant was based on a formal request based on a diplomatic note from the government of Mexico.”

Ya know whats sad…more people are gonna be outraged by this than will vote in the November Elections.

Having visited Steve Irwin’s Zoo north of Brisbane many times, I will say that when Mr Williams educates as many people as Steve Irwin did, then he may pass judgement. Until then the only one that sounds ignorant is him. It was a tragic and freak accident. Something that the educators of wildlife go through everyday. Jacque Cousteau et al. Steve Irwin has worked with wildlife for 30 years. Veteran Fireman and policeman die everyday. Are they “ignorant” as well because they ran into the burning building or ran toward the gunfire? I would also like to clue Mr Williams in on the fact that a shark could turn and bite his head off before he had the chance yell “tree hugger”. Steve Irwin knew the risks and commented as such many times. Easy to harp on someone when they’ve died. Completely classless.

I Watched “Telling Nicholas” Yesterday:

Even though the director (James Ronald Whitney) is a personal friend of mine and I worked with him on a prior documentary I have never really wanted to watch “Telling Nicholas”, the subject matter is just too intense and I know from having worked with him how good Ron is at getting people to foget they are on camera.

“Telling Nicholas” is the documentary of a family struggling with how to tell a 7 year old little boy that his mother was killed on 9/11. The documentary starts with the actual footage Ron shot of the trade centers destruction (he lives only blocks away) and progresses through each day as this family hopes that Nicholas’s mom will make it home alive. Intertwined in the story is a second family, a muslim family, who lost a father.

The documentary flows like a made for TV drama but it isn’t, there are no actors, no scripts, you see the drama as it unfolds and it is nothing like anything you have ever seen. Documentary film making at it’s best.

Ron deserved his Emmy and you really should give it a watch…its rerunning on HBO this month.
