It has long been known that Manwin owns Playboy TV but it also appears that they have a large stake in the entire company. My source tells me.

I talked to someone very close to the Manwin / Playboy deal and here's what I was told.

Manwin owns Playboy... along with Hef and a company called Rizvi Traverse ( http://www.rizvitraverse.com/ ).

I was told that Hef owns 37% of Playboy.

You know the smear campaign being run against you on "the lesser site" is orchestrated by a Manwin employee, and Gene being the sellout that he is is playing right along. It bothers them that they can't make anything stick."

Some people noted that Manwin appears that it only owned Digital Playgrounds web properties back in 2010 and that is likely true, and I knew that but the point was that both Ali (Joone) and Fabian Thyllmann flatly denied any such association even back in Dec of 2011.

Bottom line, they lied.

What strikes me about this is how long it took to come out. What else does Manwin own that we know nothing about? AVN? CCBill? A Testing Lab? The FSC? Who really knows?

OK it isn't really porn but this does interest me.

It's interesting to see him do an about face on this issue and to consider what the political motivations might be, and you can bet there ARE political motivations, he is a Politician, the uber politician at the moment.

Getting back to same sex marriage my official stance is that the government shouldn't be involved in marriage at all. Marriage is a religious institution and the government has no business either sanctioning it or not and here's the truth, if you are a religious person you should feel the same way I do.

The instant you gave the government control over your institution of marriage you opened the door for the same government to bastardize it, you gave up control over it so this is what you get....

In my ideology not even the sates should have any laws recognizing marriage one way or the other, it should be left up to the religious community to set the definition and the rules. If your church doesn't wish to recognize gay marriage they shouldn't have to, if you are Mormon and you wish to have 16 wives (or husbands), and if your church is OK marrying two men or two women then God bless ya, none of my bees wax and it damn sure isn't any of Washingtons.

The religious people should be very careful about what they want Washington to legislate into law, because once they get that wish they just gave their institution over to the whim of politicians.

While America Is Distracted By Gay Marriage, The Fed Allows China To Take Over A U.S. Bank

AFP - The United States on Wednesday opened its banking market to ICBC, China's biggest bank, for the first time clearing a takeover of a US bank by a Chinese state-controlled company.

Just days after high-level US-China economic talks in Beijing, the Federal Reserve approved an application from Industrial and Commercial Bank of China to buy a majority stake in the US subsidiary of Bank of East Asia.

The transaction will make ICBC the first Chinese state-controlled bank to acquire retail bank branches in the United States.

ICBC has been the most aggressive of China's "big four" banks in expanding overseas.
According to the Fed the bank has total assets of roughly $2.5 trillion.

It will buy up to 80 percent of the US unit of the Hong Kong-based Bank of East Asia, which operates 13 branches in New York and California.

As part of the deal ICBC and two state-backed financial firms -- China's sovereign wealth fund the China Investment Corporation (CIC), and Central Huijin Investment -- will be recognized as bank holding companies, regulated as commercial US banks.

The broad expansion of China's footprint in the US market comes amid a series of financial reforms in China that could begin to open the lucrative market to US firms.

After the May 3-4 meeting, the US Treasury noted China had made "encouraging progress" on a number of issues sought by the Obama administration, including taking steps toward a more open and market-oriented financial system.

The Fed said Wednesday that the ICBC proposed acquisition, which is "relatively small," would not have much of an impact on the banking market.

"The combined deposits of the relevant institutions in the Metropolitan New York banking market represent less than one percent of market deposits," the central bank noted.

The competition includes Bank of China branches in the New York metropolitan area, and CIC, which has a noncontrolling stake in Morgan Stanley.

ICBC will pay $140 million to buy an 80 percent interest in Bank of East Asia USA, China's state news agency Xinhua reported in January 2011, at the time the deal was signed.

"This unprecedented acquisition of a controlling stake in a US commercial bank by a mainland bank is strategically significant," Xinhua quoted ICBC chairman Jiang Jianqing as saying.

The Fed said its Board also consulted with the China Banking Regulatory Commission, the country's main banking regulator, and pointed to steady improvement in regulation since its founding in 2003.

"For a number of years, authorities in China have continued to enhance the standards of consolidated supervision to which banks in China are subject, including through additional or refined statutory authority, regulations, and guidance," it said.

In other Fed board decisions, Bank of China, the third-largest bank, won approval for a branch in Chicago. Bank of China operates two insured federal branches in New York City and an uninsured branch in Los Angeles.

Agricultural Bank of China, the fourth-largest bank, was set to establish a branch in New York City, where it already operates a representative office.

I think that this will be fun and beneficial to attendees I have identified a topic that I think is solid and informative and if you will be in Miami I strongly encourage you to attend.

When Xbiz invited me to this I had some reservations and I voiced them, I was particularly assured that ICM Registry would not be represented there in any official capacity. I knew that Manwin would be there and while I am no fan of Manwin It doesn't seem reasonable to exclude them given their stature in the industry.

Now that doesn't mean that I couldn't or wouldn't say "No Thanks", but after speaking with Dan Miller and exchanging some emails with Helmy I believe we have many common ideas. I also asked the people on GFY and on my site if speaking at XBiz would be selling out, given that Manwin would almost certainly be represented in an official capacity. I pad particular attention to the people whose opinions I respect very highly like Toby and Dirty White Boy.

The overwhelming consensus was that I not only should be there but that I almost had an obligation to be there. Why you ask? Because the invitation in and of itself sends a message and that I should be there to make my voice heard. Even my critics wanted me there so I agreed.

As my long time friend Dirty White Boy put it: "It puts elements in the industry on notice that there is an opposition party and that your voice is being heard...Go and spread the word."

So that is what I am going to do.

I want to thank Dan Miller and Alec Helmy for this invitation, I look forward to it.

I consider it an honor to be acknowledged by the King of Blowhards. I'm serious too. While Margold may not be the type to sugar coat anything (sound familiar?) I don't think anyone can question that he loves the industry. He went on to state that he has no problems with me, nor do I with him, for the record.

When I used to go to shows back when I started in this biz I always saw Margold manning the FSC booth, and I always gave him money (quite a bit actually) and I always encouraged the girls with me to do the FSC benefits.
