AVN Gets Around to the LA Direct Story

In it Derek Hay refutes that the FBI has visited his offices.

Not true says my source, "they were there and I would know".

If it is true look for an indictment to come down in a year or so., that seems to be the timeframe, both Max and Rob Blacks indictments took over a year to be handed down after a raid.

Meanwhile Joel Lawrence is refuting that he has any interest in purchasing LA Direct from Derek.

Time will tell for sure but in the meantime I think it's high time this industry made some efforts to clean up it's act. For years I preached that if we don't Congress will do it for us.  Well Then we got 2257 and NOBODY liked that.

And nobody will like the next one either...our best defense is a good offense.

  • Whoops. Put that under the wrong story.

Mike, you’re so right on this one. In fact, if it weren’t for the government’s focus on terrorism, I’m sure they’d already be cracking down a lot more on the adult entertainment industry.

There are certainly those producers, like you, who are following the rules carefully and policing themselves. But, the Internet makes it possible for just about anyone to act like they’re a porn mogul and, in the eyes of the Feds, you are all the same. So, the amateurs out there who are not following the guidelines, not checking IDs, and blurring the lines of acceptability --- they are raising the risk of greater legal scrutiny and additional legislation for the entire industry.

Surely, with an industry that is now so large and lucrative, there must already be an organization of adult producers who are working to establish guidelines and work hand-in-hand with government leaders head off any unwanted legislation?
