My wife has been invited to be on a few tv day time talk shows over the years. Because we dont want her to be treated as a punchline for a joke.We have declined each and everytime.
Thanks Tony Im glad I'm not alone in this business when I think that dignity actually means something, and that just because we have sex on camera doesn't mean we haven't any dignity
Personally i don't think there's anything wrong with porn stars going on those shows. It's publicity as far as I'm concerned. But I have no sympathy for her claiming ignorance about the show. She should have known. I'm sure even someone a little more mature and classy like Ms Daniels would get the same treatment from someone like Howard Stern. The difference is how Daniels would play the game. Some people just know how to play the game no matter what arena they're in. But I could be wrong about about Daniels too since i don't know if she's ever been on Stern's show.
I remember Shaq commenting during the All-Star break regarding his spat with Kobe. He said "it was all marketing." When celebrities say sh*t like that then I suspect *EVERY* story about them I read is a publicity stunt. If this was a stunt then it worked because it warranted two posts from Mike. If she really was offended then she needs to be better informed of what type of show she's getting into next time. Do a little homework. You can't go on the Colbert Show not knowing the guy is playing a douchbag and expect to get Jon
Stewart type questions. You gotta know who you're up against. Does that mean you shouldn't go on those shows? Again personally I don't think so because you reach more people that may/may not have heard of you. Your job as the guest/interviewee is to come away from the show earning the respect of the host/listeners. Bree Olsen failed in that aspect.
In my opinion.
Reminds me of the old saying, 'you teach people how to treat you'.
Until these women stop acting like "dumb whores" and until they stop seeing THEMSELVES as "dumb whores," they're going to continue to be treated like them.
here's more evidence to back up my assertion re: marketing gimmick
this is rnc chair michael steele talking about the rush limbaugh *blow-up*:
"I'm very introspective about things. I'm a cause-and-effect kind of guy. So if I do something, there's a reason for it... It may look like a mistake, a gaffe. There is a rationale, there is a logic behind it," he said. "I want to see what the landscape looks like. I want to see who yells the loudest. I want to know who says they're with me but really isn't."
he's a liar. but now there's no way to prove it. is there any chance limbaugh would play along? absolutely. any chance someone like bubba would help olsen stage a gimmick like this? sure. either way both olsen ,bubba, steele and limbaugh win and i became more cynical of celebrities/politicians.
It depends on the show and the host. I'd never recommend Bubba simply because I once saw him in Tampa trying to bully a lap dance girl into more than she was willing to give - and the subsequent response of the club manager (he fired the girl!) when Bubba complained. And for a lap dance girl at 2001 Odyssey to refuse Bubba (back then he was a big name local radio jock), you can bet that whatever he wanted must have been pretty far out there...
On the other hand, years back I helped get adult performers to occasionally do DONAHUE simply because I knew there would be no mistreatment and no ambushes.
