Another HIV Positive

I will release more as I get it.
Here we go again, another HIV positive test?

March 20, 2015, 3:25 PSTThe Free Speech Coalition is calling for a precautionary production hold after a possible positive test for HIV by an adult performer using the PASS (Performer Availability Screening Service) system. The test has not yet been confirmed, and we will know if it is a true positive or false positive in the next day. If it is a false positive, we will lift the hold within the next few days. Nevertheless, out of an abundance of precaution, we will be retesting anyone who might have had contact with the performer within the testing window, and asking that producers stop filming until we know more.

The adult industry periodically calls for production holds when any possible positive tests surface.

  1. they will say it’s a false positive and the person who HAS HIV will retire/mysteriously disappear. LOL!

Then duke will give the same recycled speech spewing how their testing system works and how there hasn’t been any on set HIV transmissions in the industry (on the “straight” side lol) in over 10 years.. Snore… Zzzzz

Ps.. Are we really suppose to feel sorry for these mentally unstable, women hating, pedophile supporting, morons?

  2. All of the laboratories used by the PASS testing facilities are CLIA cerified. Despite my disagreements with the way the ‘industry’ handle their Harm Reduction program, I have full faith in the professionals performing the actual tests.

Any lab must virtually jump through a series of hoops before releasing an HIV positve test result, including multipe retests, and ‘internal’ confirmations. As my lab did years ago, whenever a PCR test came up positve we would do a series of tests, with different technologist runnind blind samples along with the suspected positive sample, and we would run alternate method tests, other than PCR. We would also send a series of blind sample tests to other labs for the same series of tests. UNFORTUNATELY, although the testing labs used now are doing all the legal procedures, they fall very short of the procedures and protocols that Mitch and I put togehter specifically for AIM, and it is very very very highly likely that is the reason for the false positives in the past with APHSS/PASS. I am not saying you are being ill served now, you are not, but lets just say you’re driving a Toyota when you used to have a Benz in the garage. My prayers go out to this person, and everyone he/she had contact with.

PS,,your TESTING system did not prevent this now did it. Time to WAKE THE FUCK UP PEOPLE,,,,,ESPECIALLY YOU FUCKHEADS AT APAC.

  3. If this is a real HIV infection I feel for whomever was infected. However, that person should have known that although slight the risk of HIV from sex is real whether it be on a porn set or a hook-up at the bar. The risk is lower in porn because of 14 day testing (I would bet $100 that the average bar hook-up tests only once every three months or longer) but even Diane Duke would admit the risk is there. I wish there were a way to protect free speech, have the adult film industry survive in the US and not have VD infections of any sort (not just HIV/AIDS) but that just isn’t possible. Since people enter porn in and of their free will, know the risks (unless he/she has the intelligence of a pumpkin fresh off of the pumpkin truck, sex ed is piss poor in most states but everyone knows from TV and literature that a person can get HIV from sex) and accept those risks I can live with one or two HIV infections a year if that is what it boils down to (the rate in the past ten years has been lower than that, at most assuming AIM and PASS are lying about all of the “false positives” — which I do not believe is the case — eight infections in 12 years). Bridge building companies have more than eight deaths in that time; so do police officers, firemen and loggers, at least when you get HIV you can take medication and live into your 60’s at least while those police officers, loggers, bridge builders and firemen are dead, dead, dead and Truvada or AZT aren’t going to save them like they do HIV patients.

A little off subject but I do think the industry could do one thing better — provide a minimum of care for those infected with HIV in the industry. Why can’t John Stagliano, Peter Acworth, PD, Porno Dan, Steve Hirsch and Steve Orenstein alternate offering to hire those infected in the industry and train them to be cameramen, grips, production assistants, set builders, BDSM riggers, etc. that do not involve exchange of bodily fluids. I only cited the largest production companies here but if a smaller producer needs someone and can take the time to train they can help here as well. It is just that Kink and Vivid hire new people regularly while Mike South and Dogfart probably only need to hire on rare occasions (I don’t think Billy at Dogfart has had the need to hire any new non-talent staff in years — his only employee may very well be the Minion who has worked with him just about since he started Dogfart, Mike has said he has his usual people that work for him as well so there probably isn’t much turnover there either) so the former are in a better position to assist in this. It would make the industry look one hell of a lot better and keep the poorest of them from falling into Weinstein’s “loving” (puke) arms at AHF to get their medication. Even Jilted can probably agree with me on production companies hiring and training HIV infected former talent in a non-sex role rather than leaving them to fend for themseives and possibly fall for Weinstein’s “swan song” (puke again).

  4. @Commonsense,,time for you to shut the fuck up. Mike, now is the time to get rid of this asswipe,,,,,not here, not on this thread you asshat.

  5. Mharris,,,you idiot,,,,the risk is exactly the same wheter you get tested or not,,,testing is an AFTER the fact thing,,,,,just because you got tested yesterday doesnt mean the person you are fucking today isnt going to infect you.,,,,,,jesus fucking christ,,will you please stop pretending that you have one fucking clue what youre talking about. God dammit youre like a fucking child trying to impress mommy with what he just learned on Sesame Street. Another possilbe HIV infection, yes I am am fucking pissed right now,,,Mharris, and Comonsense,,,,please in the name of common decencey, shut the fuck up.

  6. Dear mdxxx

I don’t see why you think all the precautions will prevent this. I mean, one of the industry’s biggest production companies (or whatever you want to call it), has their HIV positive leader happily having bareback sex with a performer who was actively filming bareback scenes at the time. It can happen anywhere that someone drops their guard and doesn’t give a shit, or thinks “it won’t happen to me”.

Bar hookups are far worse. As I know from experience when I was younger, if you build chemistry with a girl, it isn’t too difficult to get the “i’m clean” discussion out of the way and happily have bareback sex. Male porn performers pick up girls (or guys) at bars and play the “I am a tested performer , you have nothing to worry about” card and get bareback sex quite easily if they want to.

The verbal “im clean” works the majority of the time in the hookup game (dating sites, tinder, craigslist, etc) if you really are motivated to have bareback sex. Don’t think porn performers don’t try that too. They are used to barebacking every day for work, so it becomes easy to just accept it in their private life.

I support porn girls escorting, but I know from my own escorting experiences that if you become a regular with a girl, you can often get bareback sex once that rapport and trust is established. I always laugh at escorts on local message forums that go ballistic and whine about guys who ask for bareback, but most of them will bareback you if they like you or trust you or you are a regular. I used to see escorts regularly years ago, and the amount of bareback sex seemed cool at the time but I look back and can’t believe how easy it was.

Also, you have HIV hits and the people just vanish from the industry and nothing ever gets reported. People in the know will have their suspicions of who those would be over the year. There have been more HIV cases than ever was reported.

The industry testing is good, it keeps HIV out of the talent pool most of the time. But, with off camera bareback sex happening so often, HIV will get into the talent pool a few times a year.

  7. Jilted, it is true that you can be infected with any VD right after your test but the likelihood of being infected is lower within 14 days than after three months of fucking five guys/gals a week like some porn performers do (for pay, of course). The rules of chance show that you are more likely to get VD after fucking 90 guys/gals than you are after fucking 10. That is where testing comes in, a VD will be caught a lot sooner if you test every 14 days then if you test every 90 and you will not infect as many people if you do pick up a VD with some guy/gal. Sex is like playing Russian Roulette when you have many multiple partners, eventually the sex gun will go off and you will get VD when you fuck five guys/gals a week, the longer you do it the more likely the VD gun will go off and you will get something whether it be chlaymidia (more likely) or HIV (which is actually damn hard to pass on through sex unless some guy cums HIV positive cum in your pussy, asshole or on your eyeball). If everyone you fuck tests on the same 14 day schedule the chances of catching a VD drop dramatically over a 90 day testing schedule because of the rules of chance.

BTW just because you don’t like what I say doesn’t mean I need to “shut up”. I don’t even think that about Common Sense as long as he keeps the insult train muted. True assholes with a vendetta against the industry and at least 1000 peoples livelihoods like Weinstein and Izzy (and the Tea Party in Congress who make Weinstein look like a rank amateur), those that beat their wives/girlfriends at least three days a week (we have three people either in porn right now or that were in porn directly before being sentenced to get ass fucked by five bubbas nightly at the local jail that evidently love to beat their wives/girlfriends) or those that lose their cool every time someone disagrees with them deserve to be lambasted, I do not (and as long as Common Sense keeps posting without the vitroil against me that he had six months ago he does not either, he hasn’t lambasted you either lately that I recall). I think you are misguided, not a complete cocksucking AIDS infested asshole like Weinstein (yes, I know that he has helped hundreds of HIV patients and I appreciate his charity assisting them but unfortunately that doesn’t make up for his vendetta against working performers and producers, half of whom would probably donate to his charity if he either helped the industry reasonably reduce the chances of VD or even just left the adult industry alone to continue to employ at least 1000 people — keeping many off of the welfare rolls as the barrier to entry for even mildly ugly women is low, attractive women can actually make enough to live comfortably and pay for college or start a business to better themselves by fucking for cash for 15-20 hours a week).

Also, I guarantee I am more intelligent than you think. If you weren’t so set on your opinion being the only valid opinion you would realize that mine is just as valid as yours — I even think your opinion is valid even though I disagree with it. Also, when I was a kid Sesame Street had not started filming yet so I could not “impress mommy with what I just learned on Sesame Street”. Jilted, I also apologize for my comment a week or so ago about people without high school degrees not (usually) being able to make $90K annually without sucking dick, I was speaking generally and certainly did not intend to hit home with you or even insult anyone with that comment, period. Sometimes I forget that not everyone that is successful has a college degree (I spent too many years in the ivory tower of academia I guess) and in citing the general way things work nowadays hit a nerve with you. I sounded insensitive and should have rephrased that comment.

  8. Well, Mike. I guess the only question is going to be whether its a female or male performer. So far, with the exception of Laura Roxx ( or however she spelled her name) and Cameron Bay, all of the recent HIVs have been dudes and cross-over dudes at that. And, minor performers at that.

I don’t think this will really hit home until a female performer of note is infected. By that statement, I don’t in any way want to imply that this is something I want to happen. I’m a porn fan. What I mean, as long as it keeps happening to cross-over male performers or marginal female performers, like Laura Roxx or Cameron Bay, its easy to dismiss the risk and blame it on the performer. When and if a James Deen, Julia Ann, Lisa Ann, Phoenix Marie, Johnny Sins, etc. is infected, it will hit home.

Again, please don’t interpret that as suggesting that it would be a good thing. All I’m saying is that to date, it has been marginal performers who have been infected, which can give the false impression that if you’re a star, you’ve got nothing to worry about.

  9. Actually, HIV hasn’t hit the talent pool (that we know of) in quite a while. The last three HIV scares were false positives. However, it is quite unusual for a testing organization to have three false HIV positives in two years time. That makes me wonder if one of the labs doesn’t know their ass from their blood samples and is fucking up the tests. I hope Mike can find out if all three recent false positives were from the same lab or not. If not, then it is just chance — especially if each false positive is from a different lab (IIRC there are four labs in the PASS program — CET, Talent Testing, Same Day Testing in Vegas and Kink’s contracted lab). If it is so we have a problem. Certainly after three false positives for HIV in two years time if it is one lab fucking up and it were my decision they would be out of PASS so quick it would make your head spin. I have my suspicions as to which lab it is from what has been said about its testing practices over the years but I will not name it until I know more, I do not wish to falsely accuse anyone of gross incompetence. Mike is a good investigative reporter, if he can’t find out no one in the industry other than Diane Duke and the incompetent buffoon squad can and they likely won’t talk as they are already embarrassed that they butcher just about everything they touch from saving AIM (failed disastrously although AIM management is more to blame with that one), the anti-Measure B campaign (failed miserably), the lawsuit to get section 2257 overturned (again, failed miserably), lobbying for the good of the industry in general (they don’t even have a full-time lobbyist in Sacramento) and now maybe PASS. The only “success” they have had is preventing a state-wide condom law which most of the legitimate credit goes to Lorelei Lee and maybe a little credit to Karen Tynan (I question her competence due to other matters she has worked on but she is an attorney, not a lobbyist), not the FSC buffoon squad (who can’t even lobby their way out of a jaywalking ticket). Peter Acworth, Marci Hirsch, John Stagliano and Steve Orenstein would be better off creating and funneling their FSC money into another organization to better adult industry interests and administer a testing regime than Diane Duke’s FSC.
