Mister Marcus Calls Me Again

I got a call last night from a PRIVATE NUMBER when that happens it’s a 50% shot that I just let it go to voice mail but I was expecting a call from a celeb friend who permanently blocked his number so I answered.   It wasn’t him.

Mister Marcus announced himself and it seemed for a second by his tone that it would be confrontational but it turned out it wasn’t.

We discussed his situation, he can’t get work, his reputation is ruined, he is the butt of jokes and he is not getting any work.  He wanted to vent and I let him but I didn’t let him off the hook, reminding him that the situation is one of his own doing.

The thing that I kept going back to was that he has been in this business a long time and he of all people knew better than to fake a test, plain and simple, I pointed out that after 20 years in this biz he knows when he has an STD and I pointed out that his assertion that “getting and STD in this biz isn’t really that big of a deal, it happens all the time” is correct BUT faking a test and working with total disregard for your fellow performers is unacceptable even in porn and that IS unforgivable, period. End of Story.

When he made his original call to me you can hear in his voice that he is apologetic, you can also see that I went easy on him, I passed no judgement.

He may have been on the road to redemption at that point, he took responsibility for his actions and he asked forgiveness.

But then The Free Speech Coalition got hold of him and for whatever reason, his tone changed, he started making excuses instead of taking responsibility and he lied, and that’s when it was over for him. Mister Marcus joins Donny Long and Mark Wallace as one of the most despised names in the industry, he may have even managed to flunk out.

I asked Mister Marcus if he knew how to do anything other than porn.  he said that he knew how to do a lot of things other than porn.  I told him it is time to do those things and to exit porn, we don’t want him.  He was determined that he is not going to exit porn.

I understand the reasoning for his call, if he can get me to forgive him and lighten up on him it would be a big step, in his mind, to help him get back in.  he is wrong on at least two levels, one being that I would help him get back in,. I won’t even lighten up on the guy,   The second being that forgiveness is not mine to give, any absolution he gets has to come from the industry and as forgiving as the biz is I don’t think that will happen, because it shouldn’t.  We should send a very clear message here and we have.  The fiasco with Jessica Bangkok illustrated that. Vividly.

In the end Mister Marcus got things off his chest and even I felt a touch of empathy for him but in the end I don’t think he is the “good person” that he kept professing himself to be.
