A reader contacted the people at Pro health Testing and also got info on the HIV test that they use, this is the info that came back from the manufacturer of the test:
Nice speaking with you and as promised by me, here is the information for the FDA approved Biomerieux Vidas HIV DUO Quick test which tests for HIV 1 & 2 (hence the name “HIV DUO”) and this test has a window of 0- 20 days as opposed to the 9-20 day window of the GEN-Probe APTIMA HIV-1 RNA Qualitative Assay that you presently use. In summary this test tests for HIV 1 and 2 (We only currently test for HIV 1 and they claim that the test window is 0 to 20 days instead of the 9 to 20 days for the Genprobe Aptima that we currently use.
I would also point out that this is the test that is being used to screen performers in Europe and has been for about 3 years.
One thing that stands out to me is the “window” Diane Duke and that lot would have you believe that the window is 9 to 11 days but the only place I have seen that is in The Free Speech Coalition Propaganda everywhere else I see 20 to 28 days. That indicates to me that maybe we are calling this moratorium off too early (again) It also brings into question two week testing.
At this point I would STRONGLY recommend that performers, agents and everyone in the biz attend the seminar being done by Pro Health testing next Wednesday the 25th at 3PM. This is important to you.
While you are at it, it is time to look at something OTHER than APHSS/PASS If we want testing to work peroperly we have to get it completely OUT of the hands of the FSC
