The Sad State of Porn Blogs – Justa Guy Writes:

Porn blogs have crashed.   There isn’t anyone out there anymore, it seems, who goes after the news and gossip.  The sites have become void of anything interesting; a cut-and-paste world; dumb, boring posts; inattention to sites;  non-porn “news;” stupid stories; no journalistic focus.  No one works at it.

Luke Ford was the best.  He put effort into his site.  He broke “news.”  He worked at it.  He went to the shoots, the parties, the casting calls, he recorded some of the best interviews of porn stars, although they, in the end, became repetitive with the same questions being asked over and over.  “What kind of girl were you in high school?”  In the end, he gave it up and put his focus elsewhere.

The new owners of his site have run it into the ground.  Often days pass with no new postings, and then when a new one appears, it will likely be a copy of a non-porn news story, or a story that’s not really a story at all.  The last post was a story naming Tory Lane the “Porn Star of the Week.”  The site had never previously had a porn star of the week.  No matter, apparently.  It then linked to four mini videos on pornstar.com.  That’s real reporting, huh?  The previous post was an Associated Press cut-and-paste of the Oklahoma sheriff who was arrested for running a sex slave operation in his jail.  And the “story” before that was another stolen item about Savannah Sampson appearing on Fox News.

Luke Ford, after selling the site, had a change of heart about abandoning the porn gossip business and started a new one called lukeisback.com.  He ran it great for a while, but then grew tired of it and eventually sold it to focus on writing for his other site about Judaism.  The new owner, a mystery person, never really “got it.”  Stolen “stories,” stories that were non-stories that ended with a question,  an indignant attitude.  There hasn’t been a post there since April 11, and that ended with the typical lukeisback question mark.  The comments, however, are busy with the same half dozen men hurling insults at one another.  They call each other names like scumbag and call all the girls sluts and whores. It is on its death bed.

Fayner?  Sorry, more of the same crap.

The forum sites like xxxporntalk and adultdvdtalk are so boring they’d put you to sleep after a full night in bed.  The same obtuse subjects.  “Who has the best smile?”  “Identify this girl please.”  And the worst: “Who would you like to see do anal/do bukake/do guys/do whatever.”  Who the fuck cares?

The best among them is this one, but I’m not inferring it’s good; it’s not.  Just look at the last story about Mike taking his girl to a seafood restaurant and the discussion that ensued about dolphin.  Yawn.  The only connection it had to the porn world was: she is a porn actress.  And the story before that by “Steve Lick” about “taint”…give me a break, will ya?

The other sites aren’t worth mentioning.  The commercial sites like Adult Video News are, well, commercial.

The porn world needs another Luke Ford desperately.  Someone who will WORK at it, make the calls, go out and meet the players.  Porn consumers want to know who’s fucking who, both literally and figuratively.  We want to know how they think.  We want the underbelly.  We want the drama.  We want decent writing.  We want some creativity.  We’re tired of the bullshit.  We’re tired of the name calling.  We don’t want press releases; we can get that at AVN.  We do NOT want cut-and-paste non-porn news; we’’ve already read it or seen it on TV. Don’t they realize we had already heard all about Elliott Spitzer and Ashlee Dupree?  We do not want to read stories that are nothing more than space fillers.

Dolphins…please.

Actually in many ways I have to agree with him, but the truth is that not much has been happening in porn that’s either interesting or entertaining. For many years now I have updated this site with porn happenings and my opinions on porn. As to the happenings, porners have gotten smarter, very few make the public mistakes they used to, nobody much cares who is hooking and what her/his rates are and when people do evil shit they have learned to do it behind closed doors, so that it doesn’t much get out. Porn is in a slump across the board so the fuck ups that result from an overabundance of money are fewer and farther between.

As for my opinions that’s pretty much old hat too, everyone knows how I feel about AIM or the FSC, .XXX top level domain is history, though Stuart Lawley is still a bottom dwelling piece of shit.  Drugs and STDs are rampant in porn lately.

The writers here do write about porn topics in general and they don’t pimp anything with ref codes or other evil shit and they all do it because they want to.  I’m lucky to have them.

I always have my ear to the ground for the latest gossip but there really isn’t much to tell. If you know something I don’t but should, by all means hit me up!

  1. I think it’s rather unrealistic to expect juicy porn gossip day in and day out. Take a look at Hollywood, for instance. If Britney isn’t driving drunk, we’re usually reduced to hearing about some actress having a baby–as if she’s the first ever to give birth–or the details of some celeb’s lavish wedding. The award shows are all about what designer the celeb is wear, as if we fucking care.

As far as the forums go, sadly they’re all boring. Check out a soap forum or a tv show or a music forum. They’re always full of idiots who fight at the drop of a hat over nothing, which is why I try to avoid them whenever possible.
