[New Post] JT Writes - via @twitoaster http://www.mikesouth.com/uncategorized/j...
JT:
I hate to say it, but that will backfire on you and make it WORSE: if they want product from ANYONE in particular - but can't find it at your store - they WILL go to tube sites to get it. Plain and simple.
What you propose to do by not selling product at your store will BUILD tube site sales...not help destroy them.
Plus, since, as you say, he "won’t feel the difference..." well, that works both ways - so stock the store STRONG to bring interest to your store rather than the tubes.
You have to do what you can to fight the fight at your level - in this case a store level. Sure, you may feel a bit better by not buying from anyone in particular, BUT what is worse: that happening (and subsequently increasing tube sales by not selling it yourself) - or selling it yourself and making a few bucks AND reducing the tube site sales (yes, the producer will make a little from this but he makes it the other way as well regardless)? Either way is lose-lose regarding tubes overall, but if you sell as you SHOULD be doing AT YOUR STORE then at least you are making a bit of $$ - and knowing you are at least slightly reducing tube sales.
